The house is at 1 rue de la Pointe, 76450 Butot-Vénesville, in Normandy, near Lake Caniel and the Alabaster Coast. Allow 25 minutes to Fécamp, 45 minutes to the cliffs of Étretat, 55 minutes to Dieppe, an hour to Le Havre and 1 hour 15 to Deauville. Some satnavs lead to a track behind the house: enter "Demeure Normande Bleue" instead to arrive right at the gate.

The house sleeps up to 11 people across 4 bedrooms, plus 2 children or babies. It suits a family just as well as a group of friends.

Yes. Baby equipment is available: travel cots, a high chair and toys. Just tell us before you arrive so everything is ready.

Yes, charging is possible from a domestic socket at the house. A flat fee of 20 € per charge applies. Please tell us you are using it, so it can be added to your stay rather than deducted from the deposit.

The house has a smart TV, a Wi-Fi router on a fibre line, an audio speaker, an electric gate, electric roller shutters on the ground floor and blackout curtains in the upstairs bedrooms, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, plus a water filtration and limescale treatment system. The property is under outdoor video surveillance.

The kitchen has a fridge and freezer, an oven, a microwave, an induction hob, a dishwasher, a Nespresso Pixie machine for Original capsules, a kettle, a SodaStream machine, and crockery and utensils for 12 people.

Yes. We do our best to make guests comfortable and leave all the basics out: aluminium foil, baking paper, oil, salt, pepper, spices and cleaning products. These are not replaced after every departure, they carry over from one stay to the next. If you finish something, or there is almost none left, we would be grateful if you replaced it, so the next guests find the house as you found it.

Pets are not allowed in the house. Small pets under 10 kg may be permitted on prior request, with a 50 € cleaning surcharge per stay. Please tell us in advance if you are bringing one.

The ground-floor bedroom is accessible, but the house is not formally certified for reduced mobility. Contact us so we can work out together whether it suits your situation.

Smoking is strictly forbidden indoors, cigarettes and vapes alike: the smoke detectors are sensitive and set off easily. Ashtrays are available outside.

Yes. The house is on a fibre line and the Wi-Fi covers every room. QR codes carrying the network name and the password are displayed on the ground floor: scan one and your phone connects on its own. We count on everyone to use the connection responsibly, mindful of the sites visited and within the law.

For the climate, first of all. During the heatwaves that hit France this summer, Normandy stayed a pocket of cool air, and the guests at Demeure Normande Bleue made the most of it: you can breathe, the nights stay bearable and you sleep without air conditioning. Add the beaches of the Alabaster Coast, the cliffs, the listed villages and a region just over two hours from Paris, and you have a destination that works as well for a week's holiday as for a few days.

Normandy is beautiful all year round, with landscapes that shift with the seasons. In summer you have the beach and the outdoors. In winter, a fire in the wood stove and walks along the seafront, when the tides are at their strongest. Spring and autumn hand you the coast almost to yourself. One piece of advice: book early, Demeure Normande Bleue is in demand and its summer weeks go quickly.

The house is not right on the water: it sits quietly in a village, in the middle of more than a hectare of grounds. The closest beach, Veulettes-sur-Mer, is about ten minutes by car, Petites Dalles and Grandes Dalles are barely further, and Veules-les-Roses is half an hour away. It is the trade-off many families are after: the space and quiet of a village, the sea a short drive away.

Yes. Outside high season the minimum stay is two nights, which makes a weekend possible. In high season the house is let by the week, with a seven-night minimum. The region is just over two hours from Paris, which makes a weekend realistic even leaving on the Friday evening.

Demeure Normande Bleue does not have a pool at present. To cool off you have the sea about ten minutes away at Veulettes-sur-Mer, and Lake Caniel with its leisure centre also ten minutes away, where you will find cable wakeboarding, paddleboarding, canoeing and a summer toboggan run. Swimming in the lake was banned several times during the summer of 2026 though: check before you set off, the sea remains the safer option.

Look beyond the nightly price. Check what is included, bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning, the actual bed layout rather than the headline number of sleeping places, the real distance to the sea and not just the words "close to the beach", whether there is private enclosed outdoor space if you are coming with children, and how recent the reviews are. For Demeure Bleue, all of it is set out on this site and the guest reviews appear word for word.
